This item is fantastic! I have used it for hosting a brunch recently and I expect to use it for all future meal events at my home (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.).I love it. I have no negatives, so here are the positive features worth noting:1. It has two pieces. The larger piece can be used without the smaller one for a shorter spread; the smaller cannot plug into the wall and be used solo, though—it doesn’t have the display or the spot for the outlet.2. Adding the second piece is very easy. I thought I only would use the first, longer piece, but a friend brought an unexpected hot dish and I was able to just snap the smaller piece on after the warming mat was already in use. So great!3. The mat has a digital temperature display. It came set to 212*F when I turned it on, and that seemed good so I didn’t change it. It did turn off after a couple of hours (presumably a wise safety setting), but it came right back on when I noticed.4. The mat has a textured raised bottom made of silicone or something quite like it, which prevents heat from transferring downward and burning the counter. I didn’t have to put a hot pad or anything underneath to protect—that is built in.5. The size is nice. The single larger piece easily fit 2 9x13” casserole dishes pushed tightly together with a third on the smaller piece. Depending on the set up, it seems effective for holding a number of hot items; plated dishes would probably be better accommodated, but it worked well for what I needed.6. The food on the mat stayed warm, and the heat seemed effective for it.7. Cleaning could not be simpler. The surface is a kind of rubbery/silicone like smooth top. When we were finished, I unplugged and let it cool a bit and then wiped it off with a damp cloth. Easy!8. In addition to the product itself, the mat comes with two bags that will store the two pieces rolled as well as Velcro straps to secure the rolled mat pieces before sliding them into the bags. This is great for storage and keeping them clean as well as making them portable if I want to take the warming mat on the go. It might have been nice to have one larger bag that would accommodate both pieces in one wider roll (which is how the mat is packaged and shipped), but I wasn’t expecting a storage bag at all, so it was a nice addition.Also, there’s a bit of a wow factor. My brunch guests all commented on how cool it was, how well it worked, and how they wanted to get one. I didn’t realize it would make such a scene, haha.TL;DR: Recommend without reservations
